Introducing Indiana Horse Rescue Southwest Animal Protection Coalition, Inc. has entered into an agreement with the owner of the property where Stallings was keeping his horses. APC has bought the land AND Mr. Stallings has signed ALL the horses over to the Rescue! That being said, we would like to introduce the opening of Indiana Horse Rescue Southwest in Owensville, Indiana! Volunteers have been working around the clock to transform the property from a torturous jail to a safe haven for horses. A lot of money has already gone into the farm to get the horses out of their nasty stalls and into nice new clean ones. This has been a large undertaking for Indiana Horse Rescue, however support from the community and donations from all over the country have been outstanding! We have NEVER seen this kind of support and dedication to help the horses! We would like to thank everyone for their help, please continue to do so that we may continue our fight to save the horses! Bundle of Babies!
May 27, 2007 - Baby Miracle was the first foal born from the Gibson County mares while in the care of Indiana Horse Rescue. She was born at Indiana Horse Rescue South in New Salisbury, Indiana. Her mother had a hard delivery. Both mare and foal were touch and go, but after some much needed fluids, artifical colostrum, and a plasma transfusion Baby Miracle and her mother, Amazing Grace are doing great and improving daily. June 5, 2007 - Baby Mercedes was the next foal to arrive. She was born at the new Indiana Horse Southwest facility. Her mother did not have enough milk to support her foal, so Baby Mercedes was transferred to Indiana Horse Rescue South to receive artificial colostrum and start bottle feedings. Baby Mercedes got her name because she was literally shipped to IHR South in a Mercedes Benz. She is doing well and improving. Her mother is also doing well and improving, we know she will continue to blossom without the stress of trying to feed a foal in her depleted condition.
If you would like to make a donation please send it to: Indiana Horse Rescue Images from top to bottom: Baby Miracle just after being born at IHR South, Baby Boy the morning he was born at IHR Main, below is Baby Boy and Mare at IHR Main. |
