! When The Going Gets Tough, The Tough KEEP Going

Indiana Horse Rescue has been hit hard by the great need of horses in Indiana. Purchasing the Owensville Southwest facility was an overwhelming leap of faith due to the financial, time, and manpower needs. Because of YOU, our many supporters we are able to increase the number of horses that we are able to assist. There have been so many successes, not only at the Southwest facility, but at each of our facilities! We are so proud of all of our volunteers and leaders for their commitment in the efforts spent to achieve a greater good! The dust is finally settling from the 100+ horses taken in from Gibson County in the last 12 months. Tremendous strides have been made in the rehabilitation of these horses from the abuse and neglect they endured. Through the hard work and dedication of the APC staff and IHR volunteers these horses are now available for adoption! Please come out and see all of the improvements that have occurred and see the projects in the making.

Indiana Horse Rescue is still in need of your support to continue our statewide efforts towards equine rescue! Throughout Indiana we are still housing, caring for, and rehabilitating 200+ horses with more scheduled to come in. Without your support we will not be able to continue the work that we do. Donations of hay, feed, dewormers, supplies, and monetary donations are still needed now more than ever!

Indiana Horse Rescue would like to introduce the opening of our Therapeutic Riding Program. The plans that were in place to add the Therapeutic Riding Program to Indiana Horse Rescue Central in Rossville, Indiana have been changed. Ken and Cynthia Dierdorf are opening IHR Central at the IHR Main facility in Frankfort, Indiana and starting our Therapeutic Riding Program for handicapped and special needs individuals! They will continue with horse adoptions, training, and boarding. Forty-seven (47) of the horses currently at IHR Main along with APC Corporate Offices will be moved to the IHR Southwest facility. This move will be taking place the weekend of September 14th, 15th, and 16th. We are looking for trucks and trailers that will be able to transport from Frankfort to Owensville. We will be moving 9 horses this weekend, we will be needing to move approximately 38 more horses throughout the rest of the month. We are also looking for large covered trucks to transport office equipment and furnishings, horse supplies, etc. If you are able to transport horses or equipment, or furnishings on any of those days or if you are able to lend a hand in the moving process anytime this month please contact Kelsey by calling 765-659-5209 or by e-mailing kelsey@indianahorserescue.com
